A mother’s words of love to her daughter

PRECIOUS GIFT

When times seem too hard to bear & I l feel like giving up
I vision your beautiful face, the twinkle of your eyes and things of such
The bond we created from my womb to the day you were born
Is a mother and daughter bind that can never be torn
With the strength and guidance of God and the blessings he pours down from above
I want to be the best mom I can be to you and embrace you with all my love
You are as precious as a flower and as gorgeous as a rose
You have been specially made to the very tip of your nose
You are as sweet as honey; such an innocent young child
You are brighter than any star in the sky every time you smile
I want you to be proud of who you are and strive to be the best
Put forth your efforts to achieve your goals and let God do the rest
I will always be your mother first, but I’m also your friend
Your are the most precious gift, that I’ve ever been given

With All My Love,

Mommy

Tuition Rises

July 16, 2007 by nisha06

Incoming freshmen and transfer students at Central Michigan University will pay about 21 percent more money per credit hour this fall than new students did last year. That’s a 4.2 percent annual increase over five years compared to last year’s students. The typical annual tuition bill for a full-time, undergraduate state resident freshman at Central Michigan would be about $9,120 starting this fall, based on two semesters of 15 credit hours each. Last year, new students paid about $7,530. The credit hour cost for a new undergraduate student rises from $251 last year to $304 for the fall semester.

My question is, “Is the school system making it harder for student to attend college”? Well, I think that they are because making it difficult for students to attend college. Why? Because many students can barely pay for their tuition now and raising it close to ten thousand dollars won’t make it any better. Financial aid is barely kicking out money for students to attend school and they are left with paying for the rest of their tuition out of pocket or by taking out large amounts of loans for the next four years.

I am writing about what is happening to CMU because there is just a matter of time before other college tuition in Michigan begins to rise. I read that administrators at Michigan universities say they have been forced to raise tuition because state aid has dropped in recent years. Because of this increase, college students will be left with high debts after they graduate unless they have scholarships or grants to help them through.

Foster Care

July 14, 2007 by nisha06

While looking at the channel 4 news website, a storyline that really caught my attention read “Woman Gets Up To 25 Years For Torturing Adopted Twin Daughters”. This story is about a 30-year-old Warren woman who was convicted last month of two counts each of torture and first-degree child abuse to her adopted 8-year-old twin daughters. She stabbed the girls with glass and knives, beat them with cable wire, shoes and exercise equipment, bathed them in bleach water, burned them with cigarettes and dunked them in a toilet filled with urine. The children suffered bruises, welts and burns until they were taken from the home in November.

I chose to write about this article on the blog this week because children in foster homes are not safe. Foster children are taken away from their mothers to be place in homes that are worse then living with their families. There are too many children that are being placed in foster homes ending up being abused or killed. For example, a two-year-old boy was taken from his parent’s “dirty” home and was placed into foster care. While in the Foster home, the two-year-old was beaten to death. Child protection services are taking children out of their homes and placing them into homes that are even worse. Children are being hurt and dying because CPS is not watching out for these kids, they are only worried about placing these children in homes.

My question is, “Should this foster mother get more then 25 years in prison for torturing these kids”? In my opinion, I think this woman should get LIFE. Why? Because people who could torture little children for no reason should have their life taken away. A child is so innocent and does not deserve the damage being done to them. 25 years is not a far punishment for this crime. There are people who are in jail for life right now for a crime that is nothing compared to this one. I feel that what she did to these little girls, stabbing them with glass and knives, beating them with cable wire, shoes and exercise equipment, bathing them in bleach water, burning them with cigarettes and dunking their heads in a toilet filled with urine, should be considered attempted murder because she could have killed them. Children are not safe anymore.

Before CPS places a child in a foster home, they should do a thorough investigation of that person background. CPS workers should be on their jobs and check these children the way they need to be checked in order to save these children. If the CPS can’t place these children in safer homes, then they might as well leave them with their parents.

Subject: Denzel Washington, and

Brooke Army Medical Center

Don’t know whether you heard about this

but Denzel Washington and his family visited

the troops at Brooke Army Medical Center, in

San Antonio,Texas (BAMC) the other day. This

is where soldiers who have been evacuated from

Germany come to be hospitalized in the United

States, especially burn victims. There are some

buildings there called Fisher Houses The Fisher

House is a Hotel where soldiers’ families can stay,

for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying

in the Hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses

on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled

most of the time.

While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave

him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how

much one of them would cost to build. He took his check

book out and wrote a check for the full amount right there

on the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear

this story and want to get the word out to the American

public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it.

The question I have is why does:

Alec Baldwin,

Madonna,

Sean Penn and

other Hollywood types

make front page news with their anti-everything

America trash and Denzel Washington’s Patriotism

doesn’t even make page 3 in the Metro section of

any newspaper except the Local newspaper in San

Antonio.

A true American and friend to all in uniform!

This needs
as wide a distribution

as we can create.

GOD BLES S YOU DENZEL

FOR YOUR PATRIOTISM

Preliminary Research Report

July 9, 2007 by nisha06

The discourse role I will be writing about is “A Mother’s Discourse.” The reason I chose this role because there are many responsibilities that come with being a single mother. I want to let tell the people who do not have children what it is like to raise a four month old child, work, and go to school. In order to describe my discourse more clearly, I will be using my own personal experience as a reference. I’m really not sure yet but I will be also using this movie called Just Another Girl On the I.R.T because many situation in this movie relates to what I have went through when I first found out I was having a baby. This movie fits into my discourse very well because the female in this movie ended up getting pregnant her senior year and I end up getting pregnant after I graduated. This story tells about the struggles of being pregnant, the sacrifices a person has to make in order to give your baby a better life, and the difficulties with going to college and having to work your schedule around your baby’s schedule. What I mean by that is, if your baby sleep, you study then sleep, when your daughter eats, you eat, and when your baby is in need, you drop everything (it does not matter how important it is) and cater to your baby. Being a mother is my life now and I will enjoy it for the rest of my life. Along with that movie, I will be using texts as well.

Remembering My Grandmother

July 4, 2007 by nisha06

Our words can’t express the loss we all feel,
or fill the void left in our heart.
Only when we remember her family is real
can our healing process truly start.
We need to recall all the memories we’ve had
of the woman whose life now transcends,
and know that her being has made our hearts glad
even as her life here with us ends.

Her presence lives on in the hearts of us all,
through the lives of her daughter and sons,
and in all of the pictures that hang on our wall,
and the memories of all her loved ones.

So often there are tears at moments like this.
Who knows how our hearts will respond?
Just rejoice in the life of the woman we’ll miss,
as she moves to her new home beyond.

Don’t recall her with sadness, or heaviness of heart.
When you think of her don’t let a tear drop.
Just remember she’s right where we all got our start,
side by side with her dear husband, Pop.
